General description

• The seminar introduces the process and structure of the master’s thesis and the possibilities for finding a research topic and data at HES or elsewhere.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course the student will
• know the various possibilities of thesis topics and data available.
• know the aim, process, types and the structure of the master’s thesis
• be familiar with ethical questions related to thesis writing

Contents

• Purpose and format of the thesis
• Ethical questions related to scientific writing, e.g. plagiarism issues
• Introduction to Refworks and Turnitin
