Upon completion of general studies, the student is expected to grasp the principles of studying in the university and to be familiar with the University of Tampere as a study environment, to be aware of the structure, requirements and learning outcomes of her/his degree programme as well as of the learning, study guidance and councelling opportunities available. The student is expected to be able to apply this knowledge in the planning and completion of her/his studies. The student has acquired the knowledge and skills required to write a clear and well-structured academic text and knows the basics of Finnish language.
Content
All courses are obligatory. Students of Russian Language and Culture take only the first part of the Scientific Writing course (KKENMP3A, 3 ECTS), while students of International Relations and Sociology take both parts (KKENMP3, 5 ECTS).
General studies for double degree students from partner universities and Finnish degree students will be determined individually.
