Learning outcomes

The student understands European history via the prism of Northern Europe. The student knows the specific historical, social and cultural features of Finland, Scandinavia and the Baltic region.

Content

The studies illuminate the importance of the centre-periphery interaction in European history, seen from the North. The historical development of society and culture in Finland, Scandinavia and the Baltic region is set into a wider context.
