Vuorovaikutteisen teknologian tohtoriohjelman suosittelemia tohtoriopintoihin soveltuvia jatko-opintokelpoisia kursseja ovat mm.

• Pääaineen syventävät opintojaksot ja niihin liittyvä opetus
• Tutkimusmenetelmiä koskevat kurssit
• Tieteellisen kirjoittamisen kurssi

Suositeltavia kursseja ovat erityisesti tutkimusmenetelmiä koskevat opinnot. Näitä on hyvä olla joko jo ennen väitöskirjatyön aloittamista tai ainakin niitä kannattaa suorittaa väitöskirjatyön alkuvaiheessa.

Tohtoriopintoihin voidaan sisällyttää myös yliopiston yhteisiä tohtorikoulutuskursseja ja INFORTE-verkoston tarjoamia kursseja sekä muita soveltuvia tohtorikoulutuskursseja ohjaajan kanssa sovittavalla tavalla (kts. Tampereen yliopiston opetusohjelma).

Scale: Depends on student’s activity, but the maximum amount of credits earned from the seminar can in total be 10 ECTS over several years.

Requirements:

• A minimum amount of presence required on a yearly basis. Minimum presence results in 1 ECTS/year.
• Depending on the activities of a student more credit points can be earned.

Level: advanced and doctoral studies.

The lecturers are visiting experts. The topics vary yearly. Each lecturer typically gives a series of lectures (6-10 lectures) as a two-day intensive course.

To pass the course for 1 credit point (ECTS point), a student must

• attend two instances of the lecture series (about 20 hours in total), and
• write a brief (about one page) summary of each instance attended.
