Students will learn which are the different sources and types of stem cells. Students will learn most common stem cell culture and differentiation methods. Embryonic, induced and adult stem cells; stem cell differentiation using chemical, mechanical and electron stimulations; stem cells in nerve, cardiac, mesenchymal (soft and skeletal) and retinal tissues; laboratory practical.

Kurssin suoritettuaan opiskelijan tuntee farmakologian peruskäsitteistön, lääkeaineiden vaikutusmekanismit ja mekanismit lääkeaineiden yhteisvaikutuksissa, sekä toksikologian perusteet. Tutustutaan lääkeainesuunnittelun vuorovaikutusmalleihin ja yleisiin laskennallisiin menetelmiin.
