It is recommend that students take both preparatory courses (KKENPRE1 and KKENPRE2) simultaneously. Students who register for both courses will be given priority. If you have completed the Introduction to Academic English course, you will not be accepted to this course. The credits for this course cannot be included in the 15 credits of communication and language studies.
In cases where more students register for a course than space allows, priority is assigned as follows: 1. First priority is given to the degree students of the University of Tampere. 2. Second priority is given to the exchange students of the University of Tampere. 3. Third priority is given to the Tampere3 students. In addition, there is a quota of 5 for the Open University students in every group.

The Language Centre will offer Introduction to Academic English only as multidisciplinary KKENYHT courses, allowing more choice and flexible modes of delivery (face-to-face, partly online, or fully online).
The aims are for students to:
- integrate into both their own discipline-specific field and the broader academic community
- prepare themselves for transdisciplinary work life
- develop transferable skills related to the conventions of academic discourse in English in a multidisciplinary setting
Note: Students should make a careful decision as to which mode of delivery (face-to-face, partly online, or fully online) they choose. Regardless of the mode, the average weekly workload is 8 hours. All groups work to strict deadlines and require interaction.

Tämä ryhmä on suunnattu opiskelijoille, jotka jännittävät esimerkiksi esiintymistä tai sosiaalisia tilanteita niin voimakkaasti, että se häiritsee jokapäiväistä elämää. Ryhmään ovat tervetulleita myös opiskelijat, joilla on oppimisvaikeuksia.
Huomioithan kuitenkin, että tässä ryhmässä on täsmälleen sama lähtötasovaatimus ja samat osaamistavoitteet kuin muissakin ryhmissä.
Vain seuraaviin kysymyksiin vastanneet opiskelijat voivat tulla valituksi ryhmään:

Degree students who have achieved the learning outcomes of the course (see above) can demonstrate their academic English skills in the RPL process.
For the Introduction to Academic English the test consists of three parts:
- Application in the form of an electronic test. Test open 18.9. - 28.9.2018.
- Academic reading and writing task on 12 October, 2018 from 10 - 13 in Computer Class 50 or 51 / Linna .
- Presentation task on 23 or 30 November 2018 in PinniB 4114.

This course is mainly meant for students working on their Bachelor's thesis (kandidaatintyö).
In cases where more students register for a course than space allows, priority is assigned as follows: 1. First priority is given to the degree students of the University of Tampere. 2. Second priority is given to the exchange students of the University of Tampere. 3. Third priority is given to the Tampere3 students.
Vieraalla kielellä annettava opetus [III Periodi]
Molempiin ryhmiin valitaan kahdeksan TaY:n tutkinto-opiskelijaa. Kurssi on heille maksuton. Valintakriteeri: opintopisteet yhteensä.
