The seminar is designed to provide a student with knowledge and tools required to develop and undertake research in the field of his/her specialisation as well as to effectively communicate research findings to different audiences. S/he will evaluate research methodologies, develop research strategies, and select research methods for answering research questions. The seminar also covers the themes related to the practical writing of the Master's Thesis, working with and presenting one's own thesis and reading and critically commenting seminar papers written by other students. The student will complete her/his thesis project along with the seminar process. The student is familiar with the principles of sound academic practice and knows how to implement them.
Master's seminar includes one mandatory information retrival training session (2 hours) arranged by Tampere University Library. Please, take part of either Group A or Group B:
