The Master's Programme in Popular and Folk Music is a joint effort involving the School of Social Sciences and Humanities (Music Studies) and the Sibelius Academy in collaboration with education arranged in Seinäjoki. Student selected for the programme take their degrees either at the University of Tampere or at the Sibelius Academy. Students of the University of Tampere will take the Degree of Master of Arts at the School of Social Sciences and Humanities as students of Music Studies, while students of the Sibelius Academy will take the Degree of Master of Music with folk music with the emphasis on research as their major subject.
