The information session provided you some last-minute reminders to ensure that everything runs smoothly at the end of your exchange studies.

Networking and finding potential jobs and employers

Please be in touch with TOAS and follow their website and instructions (<a href="https://toas.fi/en/ajankohtaista/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">TOAS - What's new</a>) to confirm what you need to do before you leave.

Usually it is not possible to terminate a fixed-term tenancy agreement within the tenancy period, even if you decide to leave earlier than originally planned. If your tenancy agreement is not on your name (Tampere University pays your rent), please just return the keys.

As a rule, you have to leave your room and common areas in a clean and well-maintained state and pay the rent on time.&nbsp;You must empty the room and common areas of all of your belongings when you move out. The keys may only be returned to the TOAS Housing Office at latest on the last day of your tenancy agreement. Please note that there is also a box for returning the keys next to the office door, so you can drop off your keys any time, just remember to use an envelope and write your name and TOAS address on it. If you return the keys late, you will be charged for it according to the rules of tenancy. 
 
It is important to maintain good relations with TOAS as there will be new exchange students coming to Tampere the following semester who will be looking for accommodation from TOAS. Please note that potential cleaning costs will be deducted from your deposit. Your deposit will be returned approximately in about a month after your tenancy agreement has ended.
