Tampere University Student's Handbook

Official transcript of records for exchange students

A transcript of your academic records will not be given or sent to you or your home university automatically. Further instructions for getting a transcript are available at the end of this page.

Tampere University's official grading scale is 1-5. Other grades (such as more detailed grades in the 100-point scale in the student's home university) cannot be provided.

The dichotomy PASS / FAIL is used in the course evaluation as such without number grading to indicate that the student has fulfilled/not fulfilled the requirements set in the curriculum for the course. If you wish to attend a course that is graded PASS / FAIL, you are advised to check well in time whether your home university will accept courses with a grade PASS. Grades recorded as PASS / FAIL cannot be converted into numerical grades.

Please note that courses for which you have registered but have not passed will not appear on your transcript (regardless of whether they were included in your Learning Agreement). However, all passed courses will be listed on the transcript. We are unable to exclude any passed courses for any reason.

Courses taken at Tampere University's city centre, Hervanta or Kauppi campuses and Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) will appear on your transcript.

How to submit your Finnish personal identity code?

First, please remember to submit your Finnish personal identity code to the Student Affairs Office.

How to get your transcript?

Before downloading/ordering a transcript or visiting the Student Affairs Office, please double-check the following:

  • Have you submitted your Finnish personal identity code to the Student Affairs Office?
  • Do all the credits and grades you were expecting already appear in Sisu?
  • Does your home university accept an electronically certified transcript that you deliver to them, or do they require Tampere University to send them a stamped and signed version of your transcript?

Downloading your transcript from Sisu

You can download an electronically certified transcript directly from the student information system Sisu if your study right is still active. To access your transcript, select My profile from the front page banner in Sisu. The Completed credits tab lists all the courses and units you have completed at the university. Click the Print transcript button on the right side of the screen, choose the printing language and download your transcript as a PDF file.

Visiting the Student Affairs Office

If you are physically in Tampere, you can visit the Student Affairs Office on Hervanta campus or city centre campus during the opening hours and ask for a printout of your transcript. The printout will be signed and stamped.

Ordering your transcript by email or by phone

If you do not have an active study right as an exchange student at Tampere University anymore, or if your home university does not accept an electronically certified version of the transcript and you are unable to visit the Student Affairs Office to get a printout, please contact the Student Affairs Office to place a transcript order.
