Students' Legal Position During Practical Training

The university of applied sciences has accident insurance for students during unsalaried practical training. During salaried practical training, students have an employment relationship with the training place, and thus the normal conditions of employment apply and students conclude an employment contract with the training place.

As regards liability issues, the training agreement concluded between the company/community, you and TAMK requires that employment regulations on liability for damage are applied to practical training completed without an employment relationship.

For training abroad, you must take an insurance to cover leisure, as the TAMK insurance only covers personal injury (not third party liability) during work and during travel to and from work.
