Kurssilla tutustutaan Espanjan historian tärkeimpiin vaiheisiin roomalaisajasta ensimmäiseen maailmansotaan. Kirjallisuuden historian piirissä käsitellään Espanjan kirjallisuuden tärkeimpiä virtauksia klassisen kirjallisuuden alusta 1900-luvun alkuun saakka sekä perehdytään viiteen kaunokirjalliseen teokseen.
