Laws of thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, properites of real gases. Basic principles for experimental determination of thermodynamic quantities. Chemical bond energies and their effect in chemical reactions.
Calculating entrypy changes for the system and its surroundings in different situations and chemical reactions. Gibbs and Helmholtz energies. condotions for spontaneous processes. Chemical potential.
Phasediagrams. Relative stabilities for solid substances, liquids and gases. Theoretical background of phase diagrams.
Ideal and real solutions, colligative properties.
Special characteristics of electrolyte solutions. Activities and activity coefficients in electrolyte solutions. Ionic strength.
