Core content
  • Configuration of simple networking features on computers running the Linux operating system
  • IPv4 subnetworking, static routing, DHCP, DNS and NAT. Use of aforementioned technologies is a laboratory environment
  • Implementing a ready-made network topology in practice
  • Studying the network performance with standard tools in various setups. Usage of a protocol analyzer (Wireshark)
  • Practice and usage of application and transport layer protocols
  • Differences of TCP and UDP

  • Configuration of simple networks using Cisco networking devices (switches and routers)
  • Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN) and Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
  • Planning a network topology
