  • Corrosion properties of materials including metals and alloys, ceramics, polymers and composittes. Corrosion wear monitoring and prevention techniques.
  • High temperature oxidation and corrosion mechanisms.
  • Wear mechanisms, wear and friction properties of engineering materials including metals and alloys, ceramics, polymers and composites; wear testing and prevention of wear. Mechanical degradation mechanisms and performance of polymeric materials.
  • Chemical, electrochemical and mechanical degradation types influencing performance of engineering materials.
  • Thermodynamics and kinetics of electrochemical corrosion of metals and alloys. Degradation mechanisms and performance of polymeric materials. Corrosion of ceramic materials.
