English Literature Reading List, 5 cr

In this self-study module, students compile a list of novels, plays, short stories and poems from different literary periods and genres in consultation with the instructor. The list should be organised around a topic of the student’s choice. During the semester, students independently read and study these texts. The module is concluded with an oral exam in which students are given a number of excerpts from texts on their list and asked to analyse their formal, thematic and cultural-historical dimensions, while also creating connections to other texts. Students are also expected to reflect on their topic and texts theoretically.
