This course focuses on the role of games and gamification in connecting people with current sustainable development challenges (e.g., climate change, responsible consumption and production, and clean energy). After an introduction to a specific sustainability topic, students will discover, analyze and discuss playful resources related to it. They will also be provided with methods to create and evaluate game prototypes. The course draws perspectives from multiple areas of knowledge, with significant emphasis on Game Studies, Environmental Science, Psychology, Communication, and Education.
