There\u2019s drinks and snacks, music and laughter, the usual stuff. Yet something gnaws at you. An absence. You don\u2019t understand what it is, so while the night\u2019s otherwise all fine and dandy, you\u2019re stuck trying to piece together the devilish missing part. What is it? One of your friends notices your Nintendo Switch and turns it on, asking, \u201cGot any party games?\u201d. You\u2019re just about to tell him you don\u2019t, and the nearly sixty euros the newest Mario Party would roguishly extricate from your wallet simply can\u2019t go, when you notice something in the shop\u2019s line-up. Something \u2026 adequately \u2026 <em>cheap.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a dream come true. It\u2019s Game Museum\u2019s party platter of playstuffs, collection of confrontations, multitude of mano-a-manos\u2014the perfect party game for those relatively lighter purses that many students, for example, are bound to possess. It\u2019s <em>UNI. <\/em>A game for two-players which everyone should play. Forty fast and fun minigames bundled together. <em>Forty<\/em>. Even Kylo Ren won\u2019t have the gall to scream for more with this one.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tuni.fi\/playlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/photo_2021-02-14_14-32-11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8824 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tuni.fi\/playlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/photo_2021-02-14_14-32-11.jpg\" alt=\"List of the various minigames with small thumbnails. There are more familiar minigames, such as coin stacking, rock-paper-scissors, whack-a-mole, and top-down racing. Then there are loveable oddities, ranging from competitive RPG weapon upgrading to trial by robotic vacuum cleaners. There\u2019s flying to the moon and weird soccer, flicking corks off bottles\u00a0and fencing\/spinning out of control. There\u2019s even <em>math, <\/em>and it\u2019s alright. <em>Forty, <\/em>remember?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tuni.fi\/playlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/photo_2021-02-14_14-32-15.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8825 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tuni.fi\/playlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/photo_2021-02-14_14-32-15.jpg\" alt=\"Two knights facing each other in a smithing minigame. Pressing a button has rarely felt so nerve-wracking.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As every minigame is different, it\u2019s hard to pin down and present any exact definition of the gameplay. On the Nintendo Switch, <em>UNI <\/em>manages to utilize the relatively small controllers to excellent extent. There are instructions how to play each game before launching them, but the most amusing way to play has to be the \u201cfive random minigames\u201d -mode, especially if you\u2019re playing for the very first time. The added chaotic energy of two people desperately trying to figure out the controls while simultaneously attempting to defeat each other\u2014How, damn it?\u2014is worth every pending prosecution of buddy-buddy brutality. These duellists should try spinning. That\u2019s a good trick.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>All the minigames are displayed in a colourful and simple, yet fiendishly entertaining 2D graphic style. Nothing too flashy, so there won\u2019t be too much vista-viewing and breath-holding; the game\u2019s jolly looks compliment the joyful gameplay like <em>hot<\/em> compliments <em>dog<\/em>. In the noise department, the soundtrack consists mostly of jaunty tunes to get some semblance of an atmosphere pumping, but there\u2019s nothing too memorable there. Hilarity ensues well without, not to worry.<\/p>\n<p><em>UNI <\/em>has to be recommended if solely for its ingenuity. And price. And the potential for fun, of course. That isn\u2019t to say it\u2019s the greatest party game ever, but it does present a humorously daunting front. If there\u2019s any one thing that definitely should happen in the future of gaming, its\u2019 a sequel for <em>UNI. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Publisher: Game Museum<br \/>\nDeveloper: Game
