It was ten years ago when Bethesda decided to come up with the great idea of launching Skyrim on the 11th<\/sup> of November in 2011. That strategy was excellent and using 11\/11\/11 as marketing was well executed and worked like a charm. With successful titles under their belt, expectations of Bethesda and The Elder Scrolls franchise were huge. The fans demanded something enjoyable and meaningful, and the answer to that was perfection. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim became one of the best games in history, at least in my books.<\/p>\n

It was a conversation with a friend over a Skyrim meme that made me curious about playing it again, so I opened my Steam account, downloaded the game, and started to play it, with the wonderful surprise that because I was the owner of the Special Edition, they would upgrade my version for the 10th<\/sup> anniversary one for free, and I don\u2019t know about you guys but a new edition for free means that you download it and start playing as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

The anniversary edition includes the previously launched DLCs such as Dragonborn<\/em>, Dawnguard<\/em>, and Hearthfire<\/em>. In Dawnguard<\/em> you will be fighting vampires, or if you want you can also become one of them, Hearthfire<\/em> allows you to create your own house and start building it from zero, and finally, with Dragonborn<\/em>, you will travel to the coasts of Morrowind to fight Miraak, the first Dragonborn. Many of you will say that this is nothing new and is the same existing content, and somehow, that is not far from reality. However, this content is updated with new textures and visuals, and finally, hundreds of contents have been added from The Creators Club<\/em>, successful mods, new quests, dungeons, bosses, spells, places, and many more.<\/p>\n

The complete overhaul with the new content makes the experience of playing Skyrim something fresh, because even if the main storyline is still to defend Skyrim from Alduin\u2019s evil intentions, the new quests and content will give you hundreds of hours of entertainments and the motivation needed to replay this gem of the gaming world. I\u2019m still playing the game, discovering new quests, characters and quite impressive weapons and spells. Leveling up destruction magic to 100 in 2 minutes sounds crazy but hey, everything is possible in this edition, I will not tell you how to do it, you must find the way yourself (or just go to Youtube).<\/p>\n

\"Skyrim<\/a>While only being an update to previous content might not be enough for you, I think the added content really is worth downloading and playing. To please the most hardcore players who want a challenge, the update also adds survival mode (that requires you to eat and drink to stay healthy) to the game. The 10th-anniversary edition has it all and is an upgrade to a game that won over 200 Game of the Year awards, so yes, this edition will make your playtime very fun and will open new opportunities for the storyline of the Dovahkin.<\/p>\n
