Developing learning environments 8
When designing AV systems, we decided that the facilities will be equipped with three large
interactive whiteboards (Newline TT-8616UB 86â€) and that all whiteboards will be installed in an
adjustable rack with wheels (Twincolumn Large + BalanceBox). In addition, all whiteboards were
equipped with a versatile mirroring system (Newline TruCast 3). Two whiteboards (white space, red
classroom) were equipped with an HDMI document camera (Newline TruCam TC-51D). In addition,
the red classroom was equipped with a passive display (65†FINLUX 65FUA8010 UHD) as an auxiliary
display so that we can show two different types of content at the same time or show single content
on two walls. Soundbars and subwoofers were also connected to the displays.
In spring 2017, the teachers sought partners for KAKS10. One of the active partners is iTronic,
suppliers of robotics for testing and technology that supports programming education. The facilities
are equipped with, for example, 15 Sphero robots and five drones. Since the teachers specialise in
information technology and communications, the suitability of these systems for teaching and
learning has already been tested extensively. Teaching and other testing will be documented, and
we will also produce videos of KAKS10 activities.
Other technical systems mainly consist of previous systems used at the school. The KAKS10 facilities
include a cart of 30 laptops, Android tablets, digital cameras, video cameras, VR headsets, mobile
phones and others. These systems can be borrowed by all 5th and 6th graders at the school.
