Physiological Measurement Systems and Methods

met-viik

We are working on the non-invasive patient and outpatient measurements in evaluation of state of specific diseases and with healthy people on evaluation of changes in physiological and psychological effects arising from specific interventions.

Our backgrounds are on electronics, signal processing, biomedical engineering and statistical methods.

We have intensive and productive co-operation with physicians in Department of Clinical Physiology, Department of Cardiology, Heart Center and Department of Clinical Chemistry of Tampere University Hospital and with several research groups abroad.

Keskeiset tehtävät ja tavoite

Our main interest is to develop more accurate and well-aimed non-invasive measurements and analysis methods for the detection of cardiopulmonary diseases and wound monitoring.

We are focused on study and development of electrical and bioimpedance measurement techniques.

Our research in health technology concerns an evaluation of changes in autonomic nervous system.

Toiminnan vaikuttavuus

We have developed a parameter, ST/HR hysteresis, for the detection of ischemia during the clinical exercise test.

We have developed a novel method based on of impedance pneumography, which provide completely new opportunity to evaluate and monitoring respiratory symptoms and disease especially with children and infants.

We have developed a novel method based on multifrequency bioimpedance measurement for monitoring of wound healing.
