Circular economy challenges the traditional linear economy. Closing the loops requires thorough thinking of how to design products, processes and services and what kind of material and models should be used to achieve sustainability goals.
RiMCE aims to enable you to apply the knowledge of circular economy and risk management into your professional development. The way the studies are organized gives you competence to develop and innovate in multidisciplinary teams.
The degree complies with the criteria set by the Finnish national degree system as well as with the European framework for degrees and competences. The degree gives a qualification for a public appointment where a Master's degree is required.
RiMCE studies focus on circular economy theories, tools (like LCA) and recent concepts. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA is a tool for improving existing products and services and on the other hand, a tool for integrating sustainable design with new products and services.
New circular economy business model based on renting and reusing instead of ownership and single use are important part of transition from linear to circular economy.
Reuse and recycling of materials requires expertise in material handling and understanding the risks involved with harmful chemicals and physical properties.Likewise, doing business in international context needs risk management.
In addition, courses in leadership, megatrends, and communication and are included into curriculum.
The degree carries a tuition fee of EUR 10 800 / academic year for non-EU/EEA students. Applicants must submit relevant documentation together with their application. If you are unsure about whether you'd be subject to tuition fees, check the 'Am I required to pay tuition fees?' section on the Studyinfo.fi application site.
