Portrait of Seyedmohammad Tahamipourzarandi.
In his doctoral dissertation at Tampere University, Seyedmohammad Tahamipourzarandi developed new methods to improve the accuracy, reliability, and control of flexible robotic systems. His research combines sensor-based motion estimation with advanced predictive control methods, enabling robots to estimate their movements using fewer sensors and respond more effectively to disturbances and external forces. The proposed methods were evaluated through simulations and experiments, demonstrating their potential to support more efficient, precise, and adaptable robotic systems in industrial automation and human–robot interaction.

The doctoral dissertation of Seyedmohammad Tahamipourzarandi, titled Sensor Fusion-Based Modeling and Predictive Control of Flexible Manipulators, will be publicly examined at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Tampere University on Friday, 30 October 2026.

The Opponent will be Professor Antonio Gimenez Fernandez from the University of Almería, Spain. Professor Jouni Mattila from Tampere University will act as the Custos.
