Oma esittely

Yli 30 vuoden kokemus elektroniikan, tietokonetekniikan, tietoliikenteen ja paikannuksen alalta sekä akateemisissa tehtävissä että yrityksissä. Lähellä sydäntä ovat konferenssien ja muiden tapahtumien järjestäminen sekä tohtorikoulutus.

Työtehtävät

Professorina (1999-) päätehtävinä tutkimusrahoituksen hankkiminen, tutkimushallinta, tohtoriopiskelijoiden ja diplomitöiden ohjaaminen, sekä alan opetus ja tutkimus. Kansallisen DELTA-tohtorinkoulutusverkoston johtaja, eurooppalaisen A-WEAR yhteistohtorintutkinto-ohjelman johtaja Tampereen yliopistossa, eurooppalaisen APROPOS-verkoston koordinaattori ja useiden kansainvälisten konferenssien järjestäjä vuosittain puheenjohtajana tai johtoryhmän jäsenenä. Tampere Congress Ambassador. Tutkimusetiikan tukihenkilö.

Osaamisalueiden kuvaus

Osaamisalueina sulautetut prosessorijärjestelmät, uudelleenkonfiguroitava laskentalaitteisto, approksimaatiolaskenta, digitaaliset piirit ja järjestelmät, tietoliikennevastaanottimien ja verkkojen digitaaliset toteutukset, software-defined radio, software-defined networking, paikannustekniikka (erityisesti satelliittipaikannuksen vastaanotinrakenteet).

Tärkeimmät saavutukset

32 ohjattua väitöstä, n. 50 väittelijän työn tarkastaja tai vastaväittäjä maailmanlaajuisesti, yli 150 tarkastettua/ohjattua diplomityötä, 5 kokoomateoksen editori, palkintoja konferenssijärjestäjänä ja innovoijana.

Luottamustoimet

A-WEAR tohtoriohjelmavastaava; kansainvälisen kandiohjelman johtoryhmän varapuheenjohtaja; neljän kansainvälisen konferenssin johtoryhmän jäsen (puheenjohtaja kahdessa: IEEE Nordic Circuits and Systems Conference, International Conference on Localization and GNSS); IEEE:n Circuits and Systems Societyn VLSI Systems and Applications teknillisen komitean jäsen; kolmen kansainvälisen tiedejulkaisun toimituskunnan jäsen.
