
Money and the Monetary System: Case Finland
Dr Olli Rehn, Governor of the Bank of Finland, will give a lecture on the history of Finland’s money and monetary system from 1811 to 2030.
The story begins when the Bank of Finland was established, following the separation from Sweden. The rouble was replaced by the markka in the 1860s, and today we have the euro as our currency. What are the challenges ahead for the monetary system?
