Accessibility and access to justice with comics ‑seminaari

Sarjis-tutkimusryhmä järjestää sarjakuvasopimuksia, saavutettavuutta ja oikeuksiin pääsyä tarkastelevan seminaarin, jossa puhuvat Sarjiksen lisäksi sarjakuvasopimuksen idean kehittäjä Robert de Rooy ja ennakoivan oikeusajattelun uranuurtajat Gerlinde Berger-Walliser ja Helena Haapio. Puhujat kertovat, mitä sarjakuvasopimukset ja ennakoivan oikeusajattelu ovat ja miten niitä voi käyttää kestävän ja vastuullisen sopimisen ja sosiaalihuollon aloilla.

IN ENGLISH 

Can a document be a comic? Can comics improve accessibility? What is a comic contract? Can contracts and comics grant people a better access to justice?  

The Sarjis research group studies these questions in their projects Graphic Justice and Word to Image, funded by the Academy of Finland and the Kone Foundation. Sarjis organises a seminar titled Accessibility and access to justice with comics on Thursday 24 November at 14.00–17.00. Speakers in the seminar include, in addition to the Sarjis group, the creator of comic contracts Robert de Rooy and two pioneers of proactive legal thinking, Gerlinde Berger-Walliser and Helena Haapio. The speakers introduce the audience to comic contracts and proactive legal thinking and how they can be used in the fields of sustainable and responsible contracting and social services.   

The event is held at the Tampere University, but you can also participate remotely. The event will be interepreted in English and Finnish via Zoom, so we request the participants to bring their own device for joining the Zoom meeting (phone or laptop) and their own headphones.  

Registered participants will receive the meeting link and further information on the event venue and program later. You can register for the event here. In the same form, you can inform the organisers about your dietary preferences and food allergies if you have any.  

For catering purposes, please register by 13 November 2022 if you will participate in person. If you will participate online, register by 21 November 2022. The seminar is free of charge.
