Robotics has for long been the key to efficient manufacturing. However, current robots mostly perform rigid tasks in a production pipeline with no ability to operate in changing environments. Next-generation autonomous robots operate among humans and require a completely new set of skills.

There is no intake to this specialisation in the 2022 application round.

Not only do robots need to understand their surroundings, they should also be able to cooperate with humans and even predict human actions. Applicants should hold a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, mathematics, automation engineering, signal processing, or a related discipline.

Students should be familiar with the basics of programming, digital logic and processors. The recommended prior learning also includes familiarity with machine learning and control engineering.
