Open University studies are an excellent option if you want to strengthen or update your professional competence, increase your knowledge and skills, or if you are considering applying at a later date for a place on a degree programme.
Course fee is 15€/credit. The Open University is for everyone - regardless of age and previous studies. Some courses may require prior knowledge. You can take as many courses as you like as open studies, but you cannot complete a whole degree programme at the open university.
Open University studies are mainly targeted for those already living in Finland. It is usually not possible to get a long-term student residence permit to Finland based on Open University courses. You will find useful information about migration to Finland on the Finnish Immigration Service. Open University students are not entitled to the same financial or social benefits as degree students.
