For example, studying intermediate studies may require some completed basic studies. These are described on the Information about studies tab of the study unit under prior requirements.</p><p>When you have been admitted to the studies, you must enrol separately via the Sisu information system for the implementation of the unit of study and, for example if set, for a practise group of your choice. You will receive instructions on how to do this by e-mail after you have confirmed your acceptance of the study place by paying the required fee.</p>

The structure related properties and phenomena in the human body. </li></ul>

<p>Student can understand and explain the terminology and the definitions used in the field of biomedical materials science.</p><p> Student is able to separate differences between material groups and materials, their biocompatibility and typical reactions inside the human body. </p><p>Student can name the most common materials in the field of biomedical materials science. </p><p>Student can explain the structures, properties and differences of the most common materials as well as explain how and why different materials are used for different clinical applications. </p><p>Student can explain main sterilization methods for different materials, and understand the demands and principles for operations in clean rooms.</p>

<h2>Prerequisites</h2>Before taking this course, a student should have basic knowledge about materials.

<p>The &nbsp; implementation includes lectures, self-study materials and &nbsp;related course &nbsp; assignments. The assessment is based on the individual &nbsp;and group &nbsp; assignments completed during the implementation, and the &nbsp;final exam.</p><p><b>Partial completions of the course must be carried out during the same implementation.</b> </p>
