Application Documents

In order to demonstrate their eligibility to apply, all applicants must upload the required documents to the application by 30 January 2019 (3 pm Finnish time).

The required documents are:

  • Bachelor's / higher education degree certificate
  • Transcript of records of the educational certificate
  • Work certificates (totalling minimum of 3 years = 36 months experience)
  • Authorised translation of these certificates into English, Finnish or Swedish, if the originals are not written in one of these languages
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) / Résumé
  • Citizenship / residence status document

Copies of Certificates

Education: You have to upload your Bachelor's degree certificate/higher education certificate AND transcript of records to the application. Please make sure to upload the certificate and transcript that give the eligibility to the degree programme.

Work experience: All applicants (regardless of the country of the educational background) have to upload work certificates to the application. It is enough to upload work certificates for total of 36 months. Work certificate(s) should be on company headed paper and must be signed and stamped.

Authorised Translations

Applicants who are applying with qualifications completed outside Finland, must send a photocopy of official English, Finnish or Swedish translation of their certificates, if the originals are not written in one of these languages. The translations must be done by an authorised translator and must have authorised translator's signature and stamp.

Curriculum Vitae (CV) / Résumé

The format of the CV is free but you can use for example the Europass CV format as a reference.

Citizenship / Residence Status Document

All applicants must send a copy of one of the following documents to establish their citizenship and/or residence status. This pertains to the legislation on tuition fees for those accepted students who are not citizens of countries of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland or holders of certain residence status in Finland.

All submitted documents must be ones carrying a photograph, so they can also be used to establish identity. The copy must be fully legible and the photo must be identifiable.

Send at least one of the following:

  • Passport ID page or ID card of EU/EEA/Switzerland which states citizenship
  • Passport ID page (all other citizenships)
  • EU Blue Card
  • EU Family Member's Residence Card in Finland
  • Type A permit (continuous residence permit in Finland)
  • Type P permit (permanent residence permit in Finland)
  • Type P-EU permit (EU residence permit for third-country citizens with long-term residence in Finland)

For non-EU/EEA/Switzerland citizens: In case you hold a residence permit, send that copy instead of a passport copy, as it will also exempt you from payment of tuition fees.

How to Prepare Your Documents for Submission

Please read the following instructions before uploading the documents:

  • Scan or take photo of the documents.
  • Scan/photo all document pages containing any text. Remember to scan both sides of the documents if they contain anything (text, stamps, etc.) at all.
  • Check the scan/photo to see that everything on the original document is legible on the scan/photo.
  • The files must be in PDF/JPG/PNG-format.
  • Name the documents as follows:
    • lastname(s) firstname degree certificate.pdf/jpg/png
    • lastname(s) firstname transcript.pdf/jpg/png
    • lastname(s) firstname translations.pdf/jpg/png
    • lastname(s) firstname work certificate.pdf/jpg/png
