Gender Studies: Theories and Concepts, 5 cr

Students are familiar with the main theoretical approaches and concepts in gender studies and their history. They recognise the mutual contributions and the limitations of these theoretical approaches and concepts in relation to different research frameworks and the field of feminist studies.
In this module, students are introduced to the tradition of gender studies and feminist thinking. The themes of the module are the theories and concepts used in feminist thinking, gender and sexual diversity, and the positionality of knowledge production.
