Creating the new digital world

Computers and software are an integral part of our daily lives. Interaction between people and computers takes different forms as computers are integrated into different systems from mobile devices to clouds.

Software, Web & Cloud (M.Sc.) provides students with a solid understanding in computer science and software engineering. This includes the ability to design and implement large software systems and the competence to manage and improve software development processes. The knowledge and skills in web and cloud are emphasised as a platform for the software like big-data-driven applications. A rich variety of other studies in a range of topics such as business, information security, user experience, big data and IoT is available at Tampere University.

An exceptionally large number of IT companies in the Tampere region provide an inspiring environment and opportunities to apply your skills and address real-life challenges. The research activities and close collaboration with companies ensure that the contents of Software, Web & Cloud (M.Sc.) are both on a high level academically and relevant to the industrial positions.

After graduation, you can have a career as a versatile software professional or further your studies on the doctoral level.

Software, Web & Cloud (M.Sc.) track and Software, Web & Cloud (M.Sc. Tech) track are two of the seven tracks in the Master’s degree programme in Computing Sciences. They have the same structure of studies, except that the Software, Web & Cloud (M.Sc. Tech) track requires basic studies in natural sciences (e.g. physics).
