KAT.VAST.202 Business ethics (Yritysetiikka) Lectures 5 ECTS: This is a lecture course autumn 2023, period I. Lectures will be held on Thursdays from 8-12 at Tampere University city campus. The lectures are not streamed or recorded. Students are required to participate to the lectures and complete the course in English.

The student comprehends what business ethics and corporate responsibility are about and why they are important. The student knows ethical theories and understands the ethical dimensions and the significance of stakeholders in business decision-making. The student is able to identify and apply tools to improve ethical practices in business. The student is able to take responsibility for the study processes and time management, participate in group discussions and present and reflect the results of the course work.
Business ethics course covers the following topics: Ethical theories and the concepts of business ethics, corporate responsibility, stakeholder approach, ethical decision-making and tools for developing business ethics practices. There are three different completion options for the course. (1) Lecture course, which comprises of taking part to lectures and completing individual and group assignments, (2) Independent online course (English) and (3) Independent online course (Finnish), which comprise of completing online assignments according to the students own schedule. The completion options are available on different times, so when enrolling to the course pay special attention to choosing the correct completion option.
