Tampere University Student's Handbook

Graduates in working life

Tampere University and TAMK

Tampere University

Tampere University monitors the way graduates enter working life by surveys on employment, start of the career as well as satisfaction with the completed degree and career. Graduates are also asked about the know-how gained by education and skills that are currently relevant in working life.

National career monitoring

Universities conduct career-monitoring surveys for graduates in national cooperation. Follow-up surveys are sent to Master’s, Licentiate of Medicine and Bachelor’s of Education (early-childhood education) degree holders five years after graduation and to doctoral degree holders three years after graduation. The surveys are conducted each autumn.

The results of the Universities’ career follow-ups are available on the Ministry of Education and Culture’s open Vipunen education statistics service. The most versatile are the recent Power BI visualisations of the survey results, which allow for extensive comparison and filtering of data according to desired criteria.

The national results on Master’s surveys are also available on the Töissä.fi service that visualises several years’ results and collects information on both universities and universities of applied sciences. The website also contains graduates’ stories about their work and tips for current and future students National reports and further information on universities’ career monitoring is also available on the universities’ Aarresaari Career Services Network of Finnish Universities.

Survey on graduated engineers and architects

Finnish universities and Academic Engineers and Architects in Finland (TEK) conduct an annual feedback survey for graduated engineers and architects together. Current results are available on TEK’s website.
