Mission statement

Hydrocarbons from different emission sources upon oxidation through free radical mechanisms lead to the formation of gas-phase atmospheric aerosol precursors. The aim of the research is to look for the kinetics of different possible reaction pathways of the oxidation process for their growth, subsequent clustering and initiation of secondary aerosol production. The study is important to understand the chemistry of atmospheric aerosols and their impact on climate change. Different mass spectroscopic methods as well as computational chemistry are employed for the investigations in molecular level.
