Career monitoring at Tampere University of Applied Sciences

TAMKin pääkampus sijaitsee Kaupissa lähellä Tampereen keskussairaalaa.
In Vice President Päivi Karttunen’s opinion, alumni are an important information source in development of TAMK and a key support in present-day students’ career path planning. They have first-hand knowledge of field-related competence needs and career possibilities but also experience on bachelor’s and master’s degree studies: ”I see them as mentors whose experiences are invaluable for students as well as for other alumni, Karttunen emphasises.

The survey also studied employment of UAS graduates and their satisfaction with their degree and career. At TAMK the survey data is used in development of degrees and students’ career counselling, for example as examples of graduates’ employers and duties. An objective of the national survey is to produce information on graduates’ satisfaction with the quality of education. The Ministry of Education and Culture uses the survey to evaluate higher education institutions’ operation. The answers will be kept confidential.
