The objective of SmartNurse project is Improved nursing education and digital methodology about health promotion, prevention and basic nursing management of chronic diseases concerning primary health care in Latin American partner countries.

Goal

SmartNurse project is an Erasmus+ funded three-year-long capacity building project that started in November 2020. The project aims to develop the nursing education in the partnering Latin American HEI’s in areas of digital health promotion and support of patients with chronic condition.
There are total of seven partners in this project coordinated by Tampere University of applied sciences. The three partners from El Salvador are El instituto Epecializado de Profesionales de Salud, Universidad Evangélica de El Salvador ja Universidad Gerardo Barrios. The two Mexican partners are Autonomous University of Aguascalientes, Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí. In addition to TAMK, University of Llubliana partners from Europe. SmartNurse is an independent continuum project to DigiNurse and DigiCare Asia projects, and through it, the DigiNurse Community network expands further.
The Project will develop SmartNurse Methodology for upgrading nursing education about digital and pedagogical methods in areas of health promotion and primary health care. This development process includes literature reviews of best practices, webinars and workshops as well as pilotings within nursing education. Based on these experiences, SmartNurse recommendations will also be produced. All partners disseminate the project achievements actively throughout the project for the wider benefit of the region’s nursing education and professionals.
