TRANSIT is a multi-disciplinary network organisation focusing on transformation processes arising in the increasingly interconnected and mobile world. The Centre brings researchers from the Faculty of Education and Culture, the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Management and Business at Tampere University in close co-operation and extends the research networking within the University, at a wider national level and at an international level.
Research focus and goals
Research undertaken at the Centre focuses on the ways in which an increase in transnational activities is connected to political, socio-economic and socio-cultural transformation in different parts of the world. The fundamental aim is to acquire information on the social, political, economic and educational challenges arising in different societal environments as a consequence of globalisation and transnationalisation.
