Refresh digi expertise in ecosystem society

Tampere University of Applied Sciences
Duration of project1.9.2018–31.12.2020

The main object is to coach skilled labour for enterprises suffering from lack of digital experts.

Goal

Finland's six largest cities are facing a strong positive structural change. During the last few years, a bundle of growing industries whose operations are based on networking have emerged. The cities have invested considerably in these industries. Digitalisation is affecting all these industries. Extensive investments are still needed to keep up with the pace of digitalisation development and to realise the benefits and competitive advantage. A fundamental bottleneck in achieving this is lack of digital expertise and experts.

In the project, the needs for digital expertise and experts in Finland's largest cities are identified, new flexible coaching activities are planned and implemented, and an expert network for digital coaching and coaching programmes is created. The contents of the coaching programmes are based on participants’ expertise, work experience and education. In addition, a common practice is created for the largest cities, educational organisations and business development organisations in order to update the qualitative and quantitative competence needs in local companies.
