The aim of Komeetta – culturally inclusive mentoring for immigrants -project (1.3.2021–31.7.2023), is to promote the employment of migration background men who are outside of labour market. The project is to be implemented by developing peer group activities, by experimenting different mentoring models as support for migrants’ employment and by arranging trainings to professionals about cultural sensitivity. Co-creation and strengthening the inclusion of the target group in planning and implementing the services are central in the Komeetta project.

The project partners are Silta-Valmennusyhdistys, Worker´s Educational Association WEA of Finland, Live Vocational College and Tampere University. The project is funded by European Social Fund. Tampere University researchers from the faculty of education and culture are part of the project’s co-creation process. The researchers are also responsible for project’s research-based follow-up and evaluation. The manager of the Tampere University’s part of the project was professor emerita Anja Heikkinen 1.3.-31.12.2021 and the administrative manager is professor Jaakko Kauko starting 1.1.2022.
