Tampere University of Applied Sciences
Duration of project1.9.2020–30.6.2023

Developing and testing an innovative educational BOT-learning method based on the use of chatbot (virtual educator) and chat (text conversation with a real educator).

Goal

THE MELES-BOT PROJECT - BOT-Learning as a modern teaching method of GEN Z connects entrepreneurial learning and entrepreneurship education with new ICT technologies to develop digital competences via new innovative curricula, educational methods, and development of training courses in higher education institutions.
The project is part of the EU ERASMUS+ program to build strategic partnerships for higher education by doing cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices. The project is operative from 01-09-2020 to 30-06-2023. EU’s grant for the project is 288186 EUR.
The purpose of the MELES-BOT project is to develop and test, using specific learning content (entrepreneurship course), an innovative educational BOT-learning method based on the use of tools such as chatbot (virtual educator) and chat (text conversation with a real educator).
The main output of the project is the chatbot and chat tool for entrepreneurship education. MELES-BOT's objective is to deliver basic skills and key competencies to the students, who will form Industry 4.0 staff. Designing, developing, and using MELES-BOT in the education process will give speed and scale-up the digital transformation. Our goal is also to convince the academic community to use BOT-learning methodology to conduct other courses in the future e.g. Programming or other IT courses.
Our target groups are students and academic teachers. The project is likely to produce outcomes that may be relevant also to other fields of education, training, and youth. It is planned that over 600 students and around 100 teachers will be involved in the project during the execution phase. Over 50 people from target groups will take part in mobilities directly connected with the project.
The coordinator for the project is an enterprise Science4People spólka z ograniczona odpowiedzialnoscia and comes from Bialystok, Poland. Partners in the project are higher education institutions from 5 different countries throughout Europe i.e. the Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Finland (Northern Europe), Maritime University of Szczecin, Poland (Eastern Europe), Veliko Tarnovo University, Bulgaria (Southern Europe), University of Leipzig, Germany (Central Europe) and University of Aveiro, Portugal (Western Europe).
