About me

I work as a Head of Laboratories and Research Infrastructures in the Faculty of Technology and Natural Sciences. My task is to support the research and teaching activities of the ENS faculty by developing and maintaining laboratories, equipment, and environments, supervised by the Vice dean of Research.

My background is in technical physics and semiconductor technology (DI 1993, TkT 2001), leading research (Optoelectronics Research Centre, Director 2009-2016, eMBA 2015) and commercialization of research results via several spin-off companies. I have also developed and managed the investment program related to research infrastructures in the university during 2017-2022. I have few tens of peer-reviewed scientific articles and presented in numerous scientific meetings and conferences. I have also co-established and developed few networks like LCC Finland and Photonics Finland together with other collegues.

Responsibilities

  • Development and maintenance of research environments and laboratories
  • Organization and guidance of support staff related to research infra
  • Budgeting and cost monitoring related to laboratory support
  • Coordination and monitoring of investments in research environments
  • Participation in the activities of the faculty management group
