Paul Berger

Paul R. Berger (S’84 M’91 SM’97 F’11) is a Professor in Electrical & Computer Engineering at Ohio State University and Physics (by Courtesy). He is also a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Tampere University in Finland. He received the B.S.E. in engineering physics, and the M.S.E. and Ph.D. (1990) in electrical engineering, respectively, all from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Outstanding Engineering Educator Award, Ohio Society of Professional Engineers (2014); Distinguished Lecturer, IEEE EDS (2011-present); 

Fellow, IEEE (2011) “for contributions to the understanding, development, and fabrication of silicon-based resonant interband tunneling devices and circuits”; 

DARPA Excellence Award (1998); NSF CAREER Award (1996).

Founding Editor-in-Chief for the newly launched IEEE EDS Journal on Flexible Electronics.

Lead Guest Editor: Berger created the idea and established an editorial team for a Special Issue on “Low Temperature Processing of Electronic Materials for Cutting Edge Devices,” IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, (Publication July 2021).

 

Currently, Dr. Berger is actively working on quantum tunneling devices, printable semiconductor devices & circuits for IoT, bioelectronics, novel devices, novel semiconductors and applied physics.
