Tampere University opens the academic year 2020 - 2020 virtually on Monday 7 September. The ceremony is open to all and streamed online at 13.00.

President Mari Walls will give the opening speech. Professor of Practice, Docent Elli Aaltonen is the keynote speaker. The alumni of the year will also be announced in the event. Chair Annika Nevanpää brings Student Union Trey’s greetings to the event.

The event is hosted by Actor Lari Halme who is a Tampere University alumnus. Musicians from the Tampere Academic Symphony Orchestra and Teekkarikuoro perform music.

Due to coronavirus, the University is organising the opening ceremony of the academic year virtually for the first time.

However, you are asked to register for the opening ceremony using the online form, which will run until the start of the celebration. Registration is requested, among other things, because the organisers can then ask for feedback on the exceptional arrangements.
