Three new members join the Board of Tampere University

Three members serving on the Board of Tampere University will step down at the end of their designated term on 31 December 2021. To fill the vacant seats, the Academic Board appointed three new members to the Board on Tuesday 26 October.

The new members to serve on the Board of Tampere University from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2025 are:

Vuorineuvos (Finnish honorary title), DTech h.c. Jorma Eloranta
Professor Jukka
Törrönen, Stockholm University
Professor Jussi Välimaa, University of Jyväskylä

The existing members whose Board terms continue are:

DTech Anne Jalkala, Vice President, Innovation and Venturing, Fortum Oyj
Professor Johanna Kantola, Tampere University
MSSc Ville Tynkkynen, doctoral researcher, Tampere University
Professor Outi Vaarala, Senior Vice President, Head of Research & Development, Orion Pharma

Chair of the Academic Board Eeva Moilanen wishes the new Board members a warm welcome to the Tampere University community. She also thanks the Appointment Committee for preparing the appointment as well as all the members of the university community and the founding members of Tampere University Foundation who nominated candidates for Board membership.
