Tampere University will introduce digital degree certificates from 1st February 2023 onwards. The digital degree certificate is an official original certificate signed electronically by the dean of the faculty. The visual appearance of the certificate corresponds to the current paper degree certificate. The graduate can also request a copy of the degree certificate printed on paper or print it themself.

The digital degree certificate increases the reliability of the certificate, as it is more difficult to forge than a paper certificate. A digital certificate can be easily verified, for example, in the certificate service of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. In addition, it helps students take part in recruiting processes, as it is easier to use the digital certificate in electronic recruiting processes.

Tampere University of Applied Sciences introduced digital degree certificates in January of this year. In addition, other universities and universities of applied sciences have introduced or are planning to introduce digital degree certificates according in their own schedules.

We are currently preparing the implementation of digital degree certificates. More information will be provided as the project progresses.
