Tampere University is among the top 350 of world universities
Times Higher Education (THE) magazine listed 1,800 universities from around the world, which is about 200 more than last year. Tampere University was placed in the category of 301–350 best universities.
Research was the area in which Tampere University did the best. That ranking pillar consists of the scientific publications produced by staff, research funding, and the reputation of research.
Ten Finnish universities were included in the ranking and – like last year – Tampere University shares the third national place with LUT University and the University of Oulu.
The score is formed of ranking pillars that are divided into more detailed indicators. The most significant pillars are teaching, research, and the number of citations. THE magazine will publish field-specific rankings over the autumn.
The University of Oxford was ranked the first in THE World University Ranking.
