Tampere University admits 629 new students to master's programmes in English

The application period for Tampere Univeristy’s English-taught degree programmes closed on 23 January 2019. The total number of applicants was 1978, of whom 629 were accepted.

Tampere University offers 34 English-taught master’s programmes.

Applicants had the opportunity to seek admission to three master’s programmes. The University received 3144 applications. The most popular master’s programmes were Leadership for Change -ohjelman Sustainable Business Management (226 applications, 14 admitted), Public and Global Health (216 applications, 41 admitted), Data Engineering and Machine Learning which included in the Master’s Programme in Information Technology (193 applications, 45 admitted) and Peace, Mediation and Conflict Research (164 applications, 38 admitted).  

Other popular areas were Business and Technology (162 applications, 25 admitted), Factory Automation and Robotics (149 applications, 23 admitted) and Computational Big Data Analytics (137 applications, 47 admitted).

The admitted students come from 79 different countries. The largest numbers of admitted students came from Finland (114), Bangladesh (68), Pakistan (63), China (31) and India (30). The University received the largest number of applications from these countries.

Tampere University tuition scholarships to nearly 300

Tampere Univesity granted a scholarship that covers full tuition to 278 of the admitted students. In addition, Tampere Univesity has granted 22 of the most highly qualified applicants a further scholarship of €7,000 to contribute towards their living costs.
