The number of applicants was 612 and they represent more than 80 nationalities. The number of Finnish applicants was 307. The percentage of non-EU and non-EEA applicants was 45% (276 applicants).

“I am very happy that our new programme in sustainable urban development attracted so many applicants in the first round. This shows that the theme of our programme and the multidisciplinary approach has made a great impact on potential students. The successful application phase gives an excellent impetus to the teachers and the planning team,” says Dean Antti Lönnqvist from the Faculty of Built Environment.

In the 2019 application round, Tampere University received a total of 242 applications for its English-taught bachelor’s degree programmes.

The Finnish-taught programmes will be open for application in the second joint round of applications organised from 18 March to 1 April.
