During the exceptional times this spring and summer, the Open Universities of all Finnish universities offer free distance studies especially for degree students. The free distance studies will help students to make use of the exceptional times while their usual studies are suspended.

The studies are consistent with the curricula of the universities’ faculties and include studies from different faculties and universities, which are offered jointly to the students of all universities. Students take care of the credit transfer of their Open University studies at their home university.

Tampere University currently offers open, free distance studies in English in information and communication sciences, but other courses are soon to follow. Tampere University organises Finnish-language distance courses in law, history, social research, social work, and education.

As much as possible, new study units will be added to the nationwide offerings this spring. The course offerings are updated on the Open University pages of the University of Jyväskylä.
